Dr. David Sparks has a clear message: He believes in lower taxes, less government, and more personal liberty. Dr. Sparks' commitment to a more constitutional government would bring back the sound fiscal responsibility that has been missing in Washington for too long. While Americans work hard to balance their checkbooks, the federal government runs up exorbitant debts that are seriously hurting our economy. Dr. Sparks would work to reduce the size of entitlement programs and the federal deficit, and he will never vote for legislation that is not constitutionally backed or fiscally prudent.
Dr. Sparks is firmly committed to limiting the size of government, an unwavering advocate of pro-life and pro-family values, and a supporter of either lowering or abolishing federal taxes. He is also a strong proponent of states' rights, believing deeply in the good judgment and common sense of the people of Texas. Having spent considerable time in Europe, Dr. Sparks sees the dangers that Americans are facing from those currently in congress who advocate for European style reforms, especially socialized medicine. Dr. Sparks will stand up for the people of Texas and will fight for their liberty.
Dr. David Sparks was born in Dallas and raised in Irving, Texas by his parents Gene and Nita Sparks. He graduated from Irving High School, Wheaton College, Gordon-Conwell Seminary and received his doctorate from Drew University. Over the past 25 years, he has served as a minister in churches in Irving, Carrollton, Garland and Plano. Dr. Sparks is the founder and president of Footstep Ministries, a non-profit company that offers overseas educational opportunities. He and his wife Elizabeth reside in Carrollton where they raised their two sons, both of whom are married, residing in Ft. Worth and Austin. David and Elizabeth are also proud grandparents of one grandson.
